Downtown Lagrange is a beautiful place.

Little shops line the main street and people stop and greet each other in passing. However, one of the things that makes this area so unique is the railroad track that runs right through the main road.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Senior Mark in Lagrange just North East of Louisville. Our goal was a street and urban style look to his senior portrait session. Mark aspires to go into acting with plans headed towards the “Big Apple” and doing a bit of modeling in the future. I have to say that I think he is well on his way.

Note: It is illegal to shoot on active train tracks. Stay off the tracks and at safe distances away from trains. Our shoot with Mark captured trains as they passed by in the background for example. Mark was either on the sidewalk in front of the shops or in a parking space a safe distance away from the train.

If you go to visit Lagrange be sure to stop at Serendipity Cafe for some amazing ice cream and sweet treats. Drop in and find treasure at the Triple L Shop, or enjoy authentic Mexican dishes from the small pop-up shop off the main road. Again be sure to stay off the tracks, you can grab a photo of the train safely from the Main Street Outlook or on the sidewalk. If you see others taking photos on the tracks be sure to share that it is unsafe and illegal in order to help protect and save lives.
